Geologic report on the effects of the earthquake of 22 May 1960 in the city of Puerto Varas

Abstract

Damage in Puerto Varas was largely confined to the low, central part of the town, to the steeper slopes, and to the edges of terraces. The topography and geology are discussed and recommendations made as to steps to be taken to prevent future damage.
