Optimum filter for surface-wave group-velocity determination

Abstract

An exponentially decaying function in time domain has been used as a filter for group-velocity determination with multiple filter technique. The bandwidth of the optimum filter is obtained minimizing time duration of the filtered signal. Sufficient resolution for practical purposes is obtained with bandwidths proportional to the center frequencies.
