Abstract
Illustrated accounts of a number of 16th century earthquakes and volcanic eruptions are presented, collected from literature contemporary with the events. Although for the most part describing occurrences known from the comprehensive catalogs of the 19th and early 20th centuries, the accounts given here provide many more details and yield interesting historical insights and divergences.
